Double Feature:: Recipe & Tutorial

 This is the second time that I have made my yummy "Pink Lemonade" cupcakes and frosting combo and I have had multiple people ask me for the recipe both times. That makes this ameture baker feel so good! I should keep my recipe a secret so you will all think i'm amazing in the kitchen but i'm just not that kinda girl! If you love it, I want you to have it!

 Let's start with the cake:

Grab you favorite brand of french vanilla boxed cake mix and follow the directions on the back of the box. Then add 2 tbsp (or more!) of raspberry jam and mix well. - DONE! Bake as directed on the box.

Now for the frosting:

Cream 1 stick of room temp butter and 1/4 cup (or less) shortening
Add powdered sugar till it becomes very thick
Add 1 - 2 tbsp whole milk (note: if your frosting is too thin now just add more powdered sugar)
squeeze in 1/2 a lemon
Now the fun part: Spoon in 1 tbsp at a time of raspberry jam till it's the flavor you want. (taste testing recommended!) I like mine strong so I usually add about 4 tbsp. 

Squeeze your frosting onto each cupcake then add a thin half-slice of lemon on top for a little extra pucker! Doesn't that just look yummy?

 I went a little crazy and made 20 of them. I went with black, white and red. Classic colors. Then I got really excited and got out the glitter! Such a diva! Oh, these are just going to be TOO CUTE at our upcoming Valentine's Party!
